Spring has sprung
Spring has returned to Atlanta...along with massive amounts of pollen and high 80 degree temperatures. At least the suffering (from the pollen) is only temporary. We are enjoying the beauty of our view now that that the trees have budded. It feels like we're in the middle of trees when we look out our windows. Our side of our building definitely has the best view, hands down! On a house related note, our last piece of furniture (our new bed with an upholstered headboard) was delivered on Friday and we are now finished with the loft! It was definitely a lengthy process since we replaced almost all our old furniture and bought quite a bit as well from the time that we moved in. It was definitely worth it now that we're at the end! Some people take years to get their house where they want it... neither of us were in the mood to take that long. Our tastes won't change either, and everything in our house is very kid-friendly as well....probably because we have children here all the time!
Ethan's spring semester will be over in just a couple of weeks...he is enrolled in 3 classes this semester and has done very well in all of them. His statistics class was a bit of a concern in the beginning because his professor was very hard to understand due to a Ghanian accent. Ethan was able to figure him out and has been very successful in the class. He has a 1 week break between his spring semester and a three week "Maymester", which will be a very intensive 15 days of cramming a course normally taught in 16 weeks into that amount of time. If anyone can do it, it's him! Then he will have another weeklong break, and we'll head to Amelia Island for a long weekend. When we return, his summer semester will begin, and he'll be taking two classes this summer. With his busy schedule, we won't be able to have visitors this summer as he needs all of his free time for studying and homework. The summer classes are an accelerated pace as well since they are only 7 weeks in length. At the rate which he plans to take classes, we hope he'll graduate in May 2011, which really isn't that far away!
We don't have any major summer travel plans except to go to Rosemary Beach in Florida for a week in August (after his summer semester finals) to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We'll be staying in a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom beach house that is the smallest beach house there, but has won several awards for design and architecture. We love Rosemary Beach and are excited to spend a week there recharging and just being together! I may try to attend a family reunion in Ohio during the month of July but am not yet sure how that will play out. We'll see!
Hope everyone is well!
